Congratulations, that looks fantastic!
I love when we sit down to "practice" or "experiment" and we end up with something cool.  ...and when we don't limit ourselves to the outline of the project as it began in our head.  I think this is probably the number one reason I am drawn to crafting.  When I can relax enough to just let my creativity flow... that's when the cool sh*t happens.

thanks for posting!   Cheesy

This is a really great idea for some instant gratification and WARMTH! Sometimes scarves can be frustrating in the winter wind, this is really lovely!

That's a really good first project..AND you winged it.
As for the loop..if it were me, I would just crochet a small chain and join to make the loop.

You did a great job! Love the colors and the button concept! I've never seen that before! It got my mind thinking of how cool it would be with funky jeweled buttons or a brooch turned button...ah the possibilities!

Nobody would know that's your first project! It's really well done!

Hmmmmmm... a brooch would definately be cool. I have some random balls of yarn in my stash, maybe when I make my stockinette stitch swatch, i'll try it with a broch.  Great Idea firehead4!

Very nice - I really like the wooden (at least it looks like wood) button with the earthy colors and texture of this first one. Of course sparkly jewels on a smooth/shiny yarn would give you a totally different but still lovely look.

when I make my stockinette stitch swatch, i'll try it with a broch.

Keep in mind the stockinette will probably curl on the edges so you might want to do a garter stitch edge, or learn another stitch and do a seed stitch edge.
