First adventure in stencilling- Eddie Izzard t-shirt & flower wall art

After being inspired by everyone else's great stencilling skills, I decided to try it out on my own.  Here are my first projects.  The first one is an Eddie Izzard t-shirt I made for a friend with a freezer paper stencil.



The second is a piece of wall art I made from a wooden crate lid, silver leaf, & a home made chrysanthemum stencil.  The frame is not quite finished, but I like how the paint turned out blotchy- it gives it some texture.  I cut the stencil out of normal posterboard & used a custom-mixed acrylic paint.

WOW!!!!!!!!  Those are really great.  Eddie Izzard is the best.  And your wall art is a really unique way to use the concept of stencilling.  BEAUTIFUL!  Did you use a photo of a chrysanthemum  to make the stencil, or did you free-hand it?  It is a really beautiful stylization.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! must have Eddie Izzard shirt!!!!!  Luuuuv him!  I got to see him in Belfast a couple years ago.  He was in full drag (he has better legs than me I think )

Haha, wow, I definitely need to add an Eddie Izzard t-shirt to my unreasonably long list of things to do.
