That bag is adorable! Gladrags, where do you buy your fabric? I love that lining (& pretty much all of the other fabrics you used to make the things in your portfolio, which are all lovely).

i've seen the polka dot fabric at walmart but i haven't seen anything like what you used for the lining. it looks like it's a cotton or blend fabric printed to look like it's houndstooth, but the photos aren't very clear. is the lining fabric "faux houndstooth," or is it a tiny checkered print?

the walmart by my house has like 10 different color combinations for the polka dot fabric. i think it's the only fabric they sell to people under 60. hahaha. it would be so amazing if walmart started to carry cuter fabrics (a la reprodepot but 10x less expensive). one day it will happen. the polka dot fabrics are a clear teaser. continuing to not stock cute fabrics would just be a beyond stupid move for walmart. unless walmart employs the most unintelligent product development staff available, they're aware of the potential immense profit that could come from the crafting community. it will only be a matter of time before my cheap ass can pay $3/yd  for fabric that would make me cringe when buying elsewhere at $8/yd or $9/yd.

Yes the lining is houndstooth!.. I too, saw the polka dot fabric at my walmart in the variety of colors! I wanted it but was too cheap to buy it i believe it was $5.99/per meter ..(as you an tell i am extremely cheap..haha) Where i live there aren't too many places to get fabric and only once in a blue moon i see something good. (I actually only know of 3 different store for fabric and one is walmart) Thats true about the walmart only has things for 60 yr olds ...  Tongue

i granted udhilldb's wish of a nontraditional sock monkey.  actually i made a sock creature/monster/friend for her:

not a very flattering picture.  udhillb, you will have to let me know what you named him/her!  it is probably a her because of the flower, but you never know!

i hope you enjoy your new sock friend.

Hmm, I'm thinking Tulip... that would be an interesting name.  Do you want me to post pics of the hat, udhillb?

Okay, now that I'm actually back at the office, I can post pictures of what I sent and recieved.

Here are the cards I made for Ezri_B;

And the crayons I got, which I then broke into little pieces. My deepest apologies to my wonderful swapper. I deleted your email, and have now forgotten your user name. Please take credit for all the fun crayons!

I will hopefully be posting pictures of the broken crayons baked into cookie crayons.
