It's nothing new or original but I'm so happy I finally finished this.  It took me over a year to finish.  Basically I ran out of thread and I constantly kept forgetting to buy some more.  Once I got the thread I finished it in 30 minutes.  I am going to iron it, frame it, and give it to my mother.

It's been a pain in my side because it was my first "back-to-cross-stitch-after-giving-it-up-when-I-was-a-little-kid" project and I made a lot of mistakes.  Plus I found out metallic thread is so annoying and I left out a whole part because I needed to get some more metallic thread.  It would've taken me another year just to complete it Tongue.

I've got more cross-stitch projects that I'm working on so keep an eye out for more posts from me... in the distant future Grin!

Looks great! I'm going my first ever crosstitch project now ( a little bitty key chain with a Korean bride and groom) and it is so time consuming that I can truly admire and appreciate the work you put into this.  Plus I love stuff that is Asian themed!

This is really pretty!  I like how it looks all shaded and dimensional.  What a great gift!

Thanks everyone!  I appreciate the nice comments Smiley.

westcoastchica: I bought the kit at Wal-Mart actually!  It's by the brand Dimension, so you should also be able to find it in a Hobby Lobby or Michaels, hopefully.

I almost bought that kit one day, but I have so many cross stitch projects, I'd never get to it.  It does look really good though. A little tempting Smiley

I hate that it takes so long to finish them, but it's probably my favorite thing.  I finished the cross stitch part and the outlines of a really big kit I bought a few months ago except I still had tons of metallic thread details to put in. I put it down for two months before I was patient enough for it. Metallic thread and cording had to be the worst.  Especially since I was so close to being done.

Very nice - I bought this kit myself, but got distracted and used the fabric that came with the kit for another project >_<.  After seeing how nice it looks finished, though, I might just go ahead and make this myself.
