Started out life as a 7XL mens shirt... well they were all the same price so I grabbed the biggest one I could.. figured more fabric for my money! Anyway after much puff sleeve disaster, then much strap disaster, I got fed up and cut the sleeves off!! hehe.. well I don't know if this really counts as reconstruction because no part of the original shirt is intact! ah well... first clothing thing I've ever made (apart from boxer shorts for bf lol)!! I'm excited I love it!! And I was totally inspired by all you talented crafty divas on here!! Otherwise this whole idea would never have popped into my head... HEHEHE can u tell I'm excited??!

viola! Grin

better pic! dodgy pose hehe

WOOH I'm off to make something else..... *wanders back to sewing machine*
OOH and plz comment!!  Cheesy

Beautiful! How is it staying up? Elastic? I'd love to make one like it!  Smiley

That is so beautiful, and I love how it isnt too short so that is does look like it came from a t-shirt ( not that there is anything wrong with that ) but it is beautiful so beautiful, if I wasn't so lazy I would make one for myself...

Beautiful!  Also wondering how it stays up, is it just tight enough that you don't have a problem with that?  I don't know if i've ever come across a 7XL t-shirt (when i read the subject i figured it had to be a super big dress because it was made out of 7 extra large shirts: ) but now i really wish i had.

Hey thanks girls ur all so sweet  Smiley

Hawkeyes: its actually just sitting there.. basically my boobs are holding it up lol but a better and more safer idea would probably be to put in a zip or elastic or like that plasticy elastic stuff they put in strapless bras?? hehe.

I made some straps for it... kindof thick ones out of the same fabric thats trimming the top bit.. i wanted to make it so I could convert between strapless and strapped... but thinking about all those buttons and buttonholes made me slack..

I really like your dress- I didn't know there was such a thing as a 7XL shirt but it looks like you really made the most of it! Great job!!!

that's really nice =)
and i totally agree with getting more fabric for your money!
i can never understand it when shorts are more expensive than pants... it's less material! =p
