I just bought a couple skeins of Bernat LuLu yarn at Walmart because it was half price. Now I'm not sure what to do with it.  Undecided Anyone have ideas or patterns? There are patterns on the label but they are all hats.

I can't find Bernat LuLu on their website - what weight is it? Acrylic or wool or cotton or blend?

That might help.

Here is some info. It also says on the website that it is bulky weight. It doesn't seem like bulky weight to me but I am very inexperienced. It is like a string with fibers on it.

Content: 100% Nylon
Put-up: 1.75 oz / 50 g, 10 Balls / Package
Length: 136 yd / 124 m
Tension
14 sts - 19 rows = 4" (10 cm)

Suggested Knitting Needle
5.50 mm, US - 9

Suggested Crochet Hook
5.50 mm, US - I/9

Care
Machine washable and dryable.

Well, since its bulky and it looks very soft, what about something like a child's sweater or poncho? You could do a funky scarf or wrap with it (I know, boring), or maybe a bag (not felted, obviously).

When I clicked on 'show patterns' for the LuLu stuff, it gave me a couple of ugly craft projects using Bernat Boa - maybe some of the nicer Boa patterns would work for the LuLu.

I'm sorry I'm not actually being of much help here.  Undecided

(Oh, and bulky is how it knits up, not necessarily how thick the string part is)

Thanks sandraregina. The colors I got are "baby" colors so a baby item would be good. I tried the Bernat pattern link too and those are ugly ornaments or whatever they are. I will have to check into the boa though and see if it looks similar.
Do you think this would work for the SnB one-hour booties? It calls for bulky weight yarn.

They would probably do just fine for booties, with the caveat that if the yarn is too fuzzy/eye-lashy, they won't be very strong booties. Okay for a stroller ride, but probably not for crawling around too much.

Are the booties from SnB Nation? I don't have that one...

Yes, it is in SnB Nation. Unfortunately, I tried knitting a swatch with this and gave up. It is sooooo hard to see the strands that I ended up creating extra stitches. It was very frustrating. I'm thinking about returning the unopened skeins. I'm bummed because it is so pretty and soft.

i love this yarn...but it is much much better for crocheting than for knitting. if you still have it i would be willing to trade for it or buy it off you...they have discontinued this yarn and i can't get it any longer around here.
