So I was inspired by a post on craftster to make a deer. I set out to make something that really looked like my own, something someone could see and know I made it. It kind of reminds me of the lamb I made, which was one of the first patterns I made on my own. The colors.. remind me of donuts at my local grocery store. Hence, Pink Frosting.

All of the body parts are crocheted as one piece, sans the attachment of the legs/head/tail to the body (which is one piece also, including the neck). The back legs have a bend in them so the deer can sit down - kind of - even though it is anatomically incorrect. The front legs also have a 'knee' in them, which is really just a row of slip stitches.  The rear end is decorated with felt hearts & magenta iridescent beads, which make me very happy  Smiley There are no wires or tricks to this one - it stands on its own.

I plan on making her a matching companion, who will of course be Chocolate Frosting, with a similar color scheme. Yum!  Cheesy

i'd be interested in buying the pattern, if you're planning on selling it.

awwwwwwww she is adorable!

might have to try making a body with neck now that I've made an inchworm and realised how to do "bends".

That's such a great idea! I've always used wire in my toys and it is a pain...besides not being safe for little kids..I hate making toys that can't be played with! I'm not sure how to go about it (just a row of slip stitches? That's it?) But once again, this is adorable, pureeva! I bet it will sell very fast.

Her dirty paws and furry coat,
She ran down the forest slope.
The forest of talking trees,
They used to sing about the birds and the bees.
The bees had declared a war,
The sky wasn't big enough for them all.
