hello at the thrift store this weekend i came across several upholstery samples... is was dollar a bag day so i stuffed them in my bag not knowing what id do with them but i knew i had to have them , and at about 1 am last night they went from future furniture to fun funky skirt

the back

the sides

i used 2 buttons on the side of the waist band to fasten it

and a close up of the material

and since each square was seperate i had to sew them all togeter quilt stye before i cut out the skirt it self so here are some in the prosses pics

I bought a bunch of upholstery samples as well this weekend and have been wondering what to make .. your skirt is wonderful, and I was wondering how clothing made in these samples would be washed.  Huh

That is brilliant!! I keep seeing great upholstery fabrics in the remnants bin at Jo Ann's. I bought one w/ the idea of making a clutch bag, but I never would have thought to piece together clothing from them!
You've set my gears in motion.....I'm going to need a LOT of remnants to cover this bootie of mine!
