I think the solid water is used in potting (for lack of a better word) silk flowers. It goes into the bottom of the vase and looks like water. My mom made some of these a couple of years ago and they are still sticky.

Hey, ive done a search on this but couldnt find anyone who had used this stuff.  I bought resin called *solid water*, it seems to be the only resin i can find over here (uk) gurr. i made it up, put it in my molds about 2/3 weeks ago and it STILL hasnt set, some have but most havent :S im not sure if i have done something wrong, i followed the instructions and measured out right, but im confused :/ maybe i need diff resin?

Edit:  After a quick look on google.co.uk i found some inks, here are a couple that might be good? Tongue  I dont know what you  guys mean when you say you "looked"  lol Tongue here you go

Hi! Does anybody knows about this acrylic stuff that you melt in the oven and it gets harden, similar to resin?
I was going to buy some, but I'm not sure how does it works.. can you embed things, like you do in resin?

Help please?

thanks so much MelancholyMiss! i could only find one of those links  Cheesy

so i bought this one:
 http://www.homecrafts.co.uk/html/product.asp?cat1=8&cat2=1499&cat3=4200

I have a question though, for all you resin experts, earlier in this thread pg 2 (here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=10667.10 )
Diane B mentioned that "Epoxy's primary disadvantage is that it can't be poured deeper than 1/8" at one time... it can have more layers, but each has to cure fully first."

what i want to do is make some coatsers with stones shells etc in them.

Do you thinkthe best method would be to pour some resin in to my container/mold, wait x (?) amount of time, place in my pebbles/shells then pour in more resin untill theyre covered? or will i have to do lots of layers?

I do find all these different types and methods etc v confusing, thank gosh you guys are here! im determined to tackle resin!!

thanks for any help in advance!  Smiley

I have made coasters with stones in them.

I used Castin' Craft resin. I put down one layer and let it set for 45 mins then I put in the rocks and covered them with another layer of resin. So I only did two layers.
