do you make glass beads? PLEASE HELP ME

DOES ANYBODY HERE MAKE THEIR OWN GLASS BEADS?

when i say that, i mean do you:

choose the glass
melt it onto a rod
design the bead in the flame
cool it down without it cracking


i'm so horrid at this, and i'm in a jewelry class at my school.

could someone please help me?
