I found some candy at a dollar store packaged in tiny little lunchboxesw (with handles and everything!) - unfortunetly, they all have 'The Osbournes' or 'Buffy' or something equally gross on them - - (and the candy is gross).

So what can I make out of them other than itsybitsy storage?

I thought about pouring wax into the tin and making travel candles, but wasn't sure how to go about decorating the tin in a way that would not result in setting myself on fire.

Also, I'd like to make some kind of a fun stocking stuffer out of them for my mom - who collects weird retro lunchboxes - but she is not a candle person.

Suggestions?
[I know someone will think of something!]

I know you're thinking anti-storage......but you could line the inside, pad it a bit and it would make a way cute little presentation box for a pair of earrings....

Well, if you have any artist friends you could by some water color paints in a tube, squeeze them into the suitcases and allow to air dry so they become the dry cake style of watercolor paints. I know an artist who does this for herself. This would give you an addorable little "travel" art set that you could decorate with stickers and such like the lunchboxes were suitcases. Smiley
Just a thought.

What about making a little emergency travel kit....

I did this with an altoids container but it's really a bit too small for everything I wanted to put in it.

Decorate the outside with paints/decoupage/etc.
Possibly line the inside. Maybe glue a mirror to the lid.
Add band-aids, lip balm, a finger nail clipper, some lotion, some hand antiseptic, maybe a tiny sewing kit, some mints, some hair pins, some safety pins.
You know... anything you've ever wished you had on hand in case of a mild emergency.

Or you could attach a whole bunch of them to a board/the wall in a grid as a tea chest/ medicine cabinet/ craft center sort of thing.

I have to say, the candle idea is awesome--even tho it sounds like you're not going to do it.

Maybe you could put a tiny little handmade lavender sachet inside the box and then decorate the outside of the box with a relaxation theme?  You could do different smells in different boxes!

you could line the inside of the lunchbox with squishy fabric like fleece and then use it to safely carry your cellphone, camera, MP3 player, sunglasses, or anything else. i did this to a little tin and used it to carry my MP3 player. it kept it safe.

Um building on Leiah's idea (sort of), because she mentioned using it to cary your cellphone etc...  which made me think "PURSE!"   Make little purses out of them?  Not sure how big they are (ebay thingy no longer there), but they might make adorable little purses, espeicialy if you painted/re-decorated them.
