need::
- straw wreath (found at any craft store)
- ribbon or fabric (to wrap tightly around the straw)
- glue (i used tacky glue but you can also whip out your hot glue gun...)
- buttons, seashells, candy, etc. (use your imagination)

this is my button wreath so far... i started late last night.

i was just thinking, they sell styrofoam rings... you could probably use one of those and then you would not have to wrap the straw. i love it so far. by the way, where did you get all the same buttons???

here is the wreath so far... i have taken a break on it cause it's really really hard squeezing out that tacky glue...

i suppose the styrofoam would work... but it does get dented up easily and the straw holds shape...
i got the buttons on ebay... it was a 3lb box of white buttons... i think if i make another one i will use different colors, sizes, and shapes...

that is a lot nicer then what my brother said it looked like... Smiley

i think now though i need to find a really nice velvet ribbon to hang it from the wall... but i havn't seen anything nice enough at jo-anns yet...

Hehehe, that is so cool. Looking at it hurts my teeth, though! But it's beautifulness outweighs the hurting of the teeth  Cheesy

Okay, I started one of my own last night using a wreath I bought but otherwise stuff I had laying around at home. Did you put buttons all the way around or just on the front? I'm thinking I could maybe get away with putting them on the front since I don't have quite enough buttons.

you could get away with just the front... the back is going to be against the wall or door anyway...
since i have a bag full i am covering the entire thing... but it gets to be a pain if you are using tacky glue, that stuff is soooooo hard to squeeze out...

have fun and i would love to see a picture of yours!!

Okay, it took forever, but here's my version of the button wreath. Thank you very much for the inspiration - this looks so great on my front door, and it just snowed here so I'm really in the spirit!
