And also! When my friend was here, she cooked us German meals. Since I will be staying with her in a week I was wondering if anyone knew of some good American meals I can cook for them. I'm so American I don't even know what a typical American mean is!!! haha besides fried chicken or something.

Thanks for your help!!!

Fried chicken is actually a good one!

Some more ideas -
Mac & cheese
American-style lasagna
Good hamburgers
Some sort of casserole
An American breakfast - pancakes or French toast, hashbrowns, bacon

and I had great success astonishing a bunch of European friends with a jello mold once!

Hahaha I think I read about that jello mold that you don't even make in the States! Thanks for your help, really! I know she went back with pancake mix... because they don't have it. But tacos sound pretty dang good. Being here in Texas for a year she fell in love with Mexican food.. And she misses it the most!

take your favorite family recipe - when I was in Switzerland a bunch of years ago, I made my grandma's cabbage rolls, and the family I stayed with raved over them!  for weeks!

but when I try to think of food that personifies the states.... PB&J sandwiches I think.  Though, I'm Canadian, so do with that what you will.
