My friends and I went to the midnight showing of Pirates of the Caribbean, and we decided to dress up (except for the guy we were with.  He was a disappointment).  We had to stand in line, in 110 degree weather, for 5 hours. But we got good seats and had a blast; it was worth it.

AND, I made my costume.  It's nothing grand, and I looked a bit more like a milkmaid wench than a pirate.

A bad picture of me (on the left) and my friend, Mandy. I hate posed pictures like that.  My purse really clashes.

I'm on the right.  It's an ugly picture, but we had to take advantage of the millions of mirrors in the bathroom.   You can't tell, but my friend is wearing the cap thing I was freaking out about making.

Here's a bit more detail on the top of the shirt.

There's the cap I made for her.  It turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

We had a lot of fun, and the movie was really funny.

I love your outfit. I went to see it yesterday but none of my friends dressed up. I was the only one dressed up. I was a wench from tortuga I had a big long skirt and then a puffy shirt under a corset top I made myself.

I agree that the movie was awesome.

Wow, great costume!  I went to the midnight showing also, but I didn't see anyone who dressed up.  It was a tad bit disappointing.  My friends and I just wore eyepatches, then immediately took them off.  I have to say that my favorite part of your project is the cap you made for your friend.  I would totally wear that anyday, especially to next year's showing of Pirates III!

Ooh awesome! The cap is super cool, it's like a bandanna but without the annoying tying and constant readjusting Tongue
I went to midnight showing and only semi dressed up (ripped shirts and handknit eyepatches heck yes) and it was crazy... half the people weren't dressed up and the other half went all out. A nice mix so everyone fit in Cheesy

Your corset/outfit is great!  It's too bad other people didn't participate fully in that.  It really depends on where you live.  Some ppl are too self-conscious to have fun and do lighthearted things.  Glad you had fun & it was worth the effort!!   Cheesy

Love your outfit and the headscarf thing you made for your friend  Smiley

I dressed up too (but didn't make my costume) and have been in a hyper pirate-y mood ever since   Grin

I dressed up with my 2 friends, we just got funny looks an shouted at by random idiots. Your costumes waay better than mine was though! You look great! Nobody really dresses up to go to the cinema in the UK, well not round here. We were the only ones apart from 3 mini jack sparrows!
