My sewing machine is usually packed up because I have nowhere to put it, but I wanted to make a new bag for school, so I set it up.  Here it is:

poorly sewn pockets!

lined zipper pocket!

woop!

While I was at it, I decided to make one of those paint chip wallets too!

i lost my old wallet, so i'm pretty low on cards and such

Very nice. I've never seen those wallets before. May have to make one... Great job.

Look at me, I'm on TV, it makes up for the shortcomings of being poor. Now I'm in a million pieces picked up for deliberation by the people listening at home, by the people watching on the telly...

Oh man! I have a slightly-too-short Decemberists shirt that I've been meaning to do something with, but I love love love your bag. Good job on being smart enough to think of it, brave enough to cut one up and careful enough to sew it together!

If you're gonna make a messenger bag, make sure your shirt is at least a 2XL.  Unless of course you just want a purse messenger bag.  I was dumb and in a hurry so I got an XL and it wasn't big enough.  I had to order another plain shirt from American Apparel.

Oh my! The Decemberists are lovely, as is your bag. Kudos! I also dig the paint chip wallet. I think I'm going to have to actually start crafting again (I had a crafting drought this year) so I can hit the streets with gear like THAT.
