Wow, that's amazing!  I had to do 90 hours to graduate, and I volunteered at an elementary school... it's so amazing how much little things can help children.  Props to you on the great idea for getting your service hours done!!!

first of all, i must say that these are quite cute. I had back surgery for scoliosis this past summer at the Shriner's hospital, and while I was there these people kept giving me special little quilts and pillow cases and things like that. props to you =)

Oh wow, I just wanna say thanks for choosing Shriner's! my best friend spend most of his 18 years on this earth in and out of the Shriner's hospital and I know things like this really touched him! My school's idea of a "community service" requirement basically meant you graded papers for a teacher. I wish we had the opportunity (and encouragement) to do something really worthwhile! The quilts are gorgeous, by the way  Wink

Saw this link in the YKYACW thread, and had to look...I'm proud of you and don't even know you! That's such a great gift, and babies certainly make the best recipients of charity/gifts...I should show your page to some of the other military wives out here,  I've been trying to get a quilting group together to make baby quilts, since we have so many popping out here, and they all think it's too difficult Sad Would you mind being used to help inspire them?

PS I love the sports-ball fabric in pic #2, I used that in a quilt for my first son 4 years ago, and it's still hanging around the house Smiley

Ouch! Scoliosis, I hope it went well. I've been in therapy for that for years.

And I think I commented here before, but this still amazes me. :3 Fantastic job, you generous girl!

I had back surgery for severe scoliosis (68 degree angle pre-surgery) at the Shriner's hospital in Houston when I was 14 (I'm 19 now). I remember getting loads of stuffed animals and stuff from people there. I have been wanting to give something back to the Shriners for all they've done for me..I just got a sewing machine for christmas maybe I'll make blankets.
