I picked a woman who I admire for this challenge and crafted a sock monkey in her image.
Josephine Baker was a beautiful woman, who was a Jazz sensation, Red Cross Nurse during World War II, Civil Rights Activist, Animal Lover and who adopted 12 children from all over the world creating her "Rainbow Tribe". Oh, yeah, she also did a banana dance half-nekkid. Cheesy

The gorgeous Josephine Baker:

In Sock Monkey Tribute:

I made a beaded bustier for her and her banana skirt is made of fimo bananas.
She is made from the traditional Red Heel socks and has a wire armature for posing.
A close up:

And here's an "in-progress" shot:

Thanks for looking!

Hahaha, that sock monkey is priceless. I love the beaded bustier--and of course the banana skirt. The banana dance goes so well with the monkey's... well, monkeyness.

That banana skirt cracks me up! Who better than a sock monkey to do a burlesque dance in a banana skirt?!

I like her, "come hither" glance, too.  Cheesy

Hooray!  I'm so glad you went with the banana skirt!  Monkeys + bananas = just right.  And Josephine Baker was awesome.

Great job, as always!   Smiley
