I'm sending you a pm today. I want in! Do you think it's okay to share the non-private, swap specific parts of the questionnaires? I'm curious how other spinners answer these questions. No biggie though.

Thanks so much for organizing this!

I so want in in this, but I'm pretty much a newbie at spinning, and I wouldn't want to disappoint anyone who is a super expert or anything. Will you be matching up skill levels?

Actually, I was thinking of matching up wants and skills.  I looove bumpy handspun yarn, but have trouble spinning anything bulky or thick the way beginners do.  So, I figured I'd partner up people that way.  Maybe I should put that on the list - whether or not the person wants a new or intermediate or experienced spinner for their partner?

this sounds really appealing, but i'm so intimidated! i have to spin on a drop spindle (no wheel yet) and my joins kind of suck....some of it's really good though! I'll have to sign up, someone will love my yarn, right? it's preeeeetty...

So far we have 10 swappers, which ain't too bad Wink.  But, I can leave the sign-up open for an extra day or two, if people want?  I will have to wait a couple of days before sending everyone their partner's info, tho.  Yay or nay?

Coolies.  I'll change it later today, providing there are no objections.

I also wanted to check that everyone understood that the first set of questions in the questionairre covered what you wanted to spin/ have in your stash to spin and that the second set are what you'd like to recieve?  It's my first time organizing, and I'm wondering if that didn't come across...?

I was just wondering if there was a handspun swap and decided to look and viola! this was here.  Great timing!  I've signed up.

And Mayerlove, I am using a drop spindle as well, don't worry about it, the more you do it the better the joins get.

Can I just say that I hate 100F weather?  But, despite the heat, I have managed to pair everyone up (hopefully well!)  I'll send out your partner's info in a PM in a mo'.  I tried to pair people up as best as possible.  Let me know if you have any objections, questions, whatever Wink

Time to get onto the spinning!

(note: all the up-to-date information will be on the first page/ post from now on)

another edit ...  Okay, also, please check that the partner I listed you with on the first post is the same person I sent to you.  I can get confused, and I don't want to mess things up Undecided

I'm almost complete. I have some drying to do this weekend and everything will be going out on tuesday.

That heat was a killer. It was hard as hell to spin in that and I ended up behind. BUt everything is working out now and I'll be treating myself to a fiber shop excursion today.  Grin

Any reason is a good reason, right?
