for years now, i've had a strange fascination for all things pope related (mostly because i really want the popemobile), and i've had a love of sock monkeys my entire life, so it was natural to put the two together! so i introduce to you Pope Monkeyus the First.

here he is just hanging around the vatican.

here Pope Monkeyus is admiring some Madonnas.

and here he is doing some Pope-ly business.

i hope you all enjoy him!

This is HYS-TERICAL.  I can't believe that you did the pope.  Can life get better? I submit that it cannot.  Great job.

I love the way you made his mouth, all turned down at the corners - he looks very stern and "pope-ly". Great job!

This is going to be a hard competition to judge...everyone has done such phenomenal work!

Oh wow.
This is by far the funniest sock monkey I have ever seen.
I'm not sure if as a Catholic, I should be offended...or if I should just laugh with the rest of you.
I'm going to stick with the laughing.  I think the pope would laugh and love it with the rest of us anyways!
Great job!!!
