Or would that be Lance SockStrong...

Seven time Tour de France winner, cancer survivor, and all round good guy.

This classic American red heel monkey is wearing all new clothing designed specifically for him, including the USA patchwork cap and the black with red dots Sidi bike shoes (like Lance wears).

He's always extra careful to keep his tail away from the spokes and bike chain.

And wears his protective bike gloves to keep from getting blisters, or wearing out his knit.

I've been a lurker here for awhile even though some of my friends are here (howdy!) but this challenge inspired me to finally join and post.

That's marvelous! Please tell me that that's an actual mail sticker on his shirt.

LOOKING FOR A PERSONAL SWAP: I'm hoping for dinosaur-themed Xmas crackers, or other dinosaur Xmas items. I can make a Jayne Cobb hat, or many other things!

Thank you.

That is a real priority mail sticker on his shirt, since the USPS was one of Lance's sponsors. The action shot with the same background as Lance is the only Photoshop magic. The other photos are exactly as he posed. Suprisingly, nobody on my block found it strange to see a sock monkey riding a bike down the sidewalk with no hands on the bars.

I love it!  Where'd you get the little monkey-sized bike?  Your little monkey looks like he is really a cyclist finishing his race.  Good job with posing and getting him balanced for the pics!

Wow!  When I read the title of a Lance Armstrong sock monkey I didn't expect to be impressed.  I wouldn't consider Lance to be easy to ape, but you nailed it!  The clothing and positioning is great.  (And your title is oh-so clever!)  This is definatly my favorite thus far.  Amazing work!  Grin

The shirt logo is a priority mail sticker from the post office. The assorted USA fabrics were some unfinished quilt pieces I bought in a box lot at a yard sale. And the bike I got recently from my pal Bubba, (of Bubba's Sock Drawer,) when he was having a little sock monkey garage sale. The pedals and wheels really turn with the chain.

Thank you. It's fun to be amongst so many terrific sock monkey entries here.

I LOVE IT!

I had to e-mail the pics to my friend who is a cycling/tour de france fanatic.  I'm pretty sure he arranges his daily routine according to when the Outdoor Life Network is showing the tour, and if that means getting up at 4am, I think he does it.  So, no doubt he will love seeing this.

AWESOME JOB!

I love your lance sockstrong.  Good timing, too, given the tour has just started.  I have to show this to my husband, the cycling nut.  I'll bet our Tivo is full of cycling/tour de france coverage by now.

This is going to be a tough vote  . . .

I know that this challenge is long over, but I just had to say how much I loved this sock money! You know what would have been the best addition!? A little 'livestrong' bracelet....
