Grin Just curious if there are any crafty folk in the Reno area and what kind of crafty groups we have around here.

I just moved to Reno less than a month ago, so I don't have any clue myself.  I'd love to find some new crafty people and groups though!   Smiley

Cheesy  I was bored and all over craigslist.org last night.  Someone posted about starting a knitting circle for twentysomethings in town. Not sure if you knit, but she might be a start.  I've only moved here myself at the beginning of March. Have you found anything fun yet?  La Bussola over by the casinos is kind of a fun store to walk through.  My honey and I mostly stay at home waiting for our netflix to arrive.  Have you been over the mountain to Lake Tahoe yet? It's only about 40 minutes away.   Cool

Me! Me! I'm here!
I moved to Reno last September from Vancouver, BC. I'm not allowed to work so I computer, craft and eat lots of food. Nor do I drive. I haven't heard of any craft groups, except for some knitters that get together at a library in Sparks (I think).
Where do you two move here from?

Smiley  I moved here from Martinez, CA.  I grew up in the SF bay area.  We came up here to be near my boyfriend's dad.  Reno is a far way from B.C.  What brought you to the desert?  Eventually we are supposed to take a trip tovancouver ourselves. My boyfriend really liked it there and was thinking about someday moving north.  Do you play mmorpgs?

I haven't found anything fun here in Reno yet, but then again I've been trying to get us all unpacked and settled on top of being 7 mos. pregnant, lol.  We haven't even made it to Tahoe yet, but hopefully we will soon.  Most nights we're watching our netflix too, lol.  I don't know how to knit (but I do crochet and was amazed at the yarn selection the Ben Franklins had here, sooooo much more than in Hawaii!) and it seems that those are the only groups I ever find.  Sad

Miss M- I don't know what mmorpgs is  Embarrassed
I moved here because I met a guy that lived here and we decided to get married. He had a better paying job, so that's why I'm here rather than Vancouver. I love BC/ Washington state area. Oregon is nice too. I don'y know why, but I miss the rain.

I have lived here since September and still haven't been to Tahoe or Pyramid Lake. Which sucks because I miss the water SO much.

Amygada- do you do crafting other than crocheting?

mmorpg = Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game  I've been addicted to Everquest and WoW, but finally broke free a few months ago.  The hubby wants to start playing Vanguard once that comes out so I'm sure I'll end up zoned into that, lol.

Besides crochet I do some sewing (very badly I might add.  I sooooo need a new sewing machine.  Mine is older than my mother.), embroidery, I've made a couple pieces of jewelry, and random projects I've picked up on craftster.  So basically I try to do a little bit of everything.  Smiley

I'm here too!  Just moved here in March '06 with my husband and (now) 20 month old.  If you're still looking for crafters, I crochet and sew (with the occasional "whatever" craft!) and am having a hard time meeting people who are cool!
