I finally got pictures!  I've never done pics before, so sorry about the size!  I got the idea after seeing a pattern at www.yarntomato.com in the April 2004 archive for a basket made with an old CD.  The lid of the teacup is just the base of the basket and it also has a CD in it.  Also, I did a row of single crochet just under the inside rim to help support the lid (my husband's idea).  Let me know what you think, and THANK YOU, YARN TOMATO and THANK YOU, JEN FOR THE TEACUP HANDLE IDEA!!!!!!  Grin

That's so cute! I like the pattern for a knitted "fiesta ware" tea set, but had no idea what I would do with it. Now I know!

OK- So how long did it take you to do this? I can't knit or crochet (yet!) but I am just finishing a tea themed quilt for a friend for her wedding in a few weeks. This would be just the perfect touch since I was planning on putting together a gift basket with assorted teas anyway. Whaddya think? Could I work out some sort of deal to buy one from you or a trade or do they just take too darned long?!!

Alright, this is just too charming---and I must make one for my mother, the Queen of All Tea Drinkers.  Would you mind tuting how you adapted it from the Yarn Tomato bowl pattern?
