Lately I've been reading a lot about Native Americans and I'm very touched by their philosophy of live.I'm starting to love everything that has to do with them, so I got inspired to make this skirt.

The dream catcher came up not so good, but as I'm not a very experienced sewer, I still love this skirt.

I've used hemp cord for dream catcher and for ties at sides, than I crocheted feathers and at the end I used acrylic paints for other details.

Hope you like it!

that's a very interesting skirt...I'm Native American (Cree to be exact) and that almost looks like something I would see someone wearing at a healing gathering or sundance...it's actually custom for women to wear long skirts to ceremonies and gatherings. The tipi and dreamcatcher details turned out great. Nice job.

I LOVE THIS!!!  it is a wonderful adaptation of one culture's symbols into another culture's aesthetic.

my grandmother (mama's mother) was full-blood cherokee from north carolina and she would have loved this too.

you will get some serious positive attention in this skirt, i guarantee it.

that's pretty sweet. I'm not Native American at all, but I'd wear it.

Now the wintertime is coming,
The windows are filled with frost.
I went to tell everybody,
But I could not get across.
Well, I wanna be your lover, baby,
I don't wanna be your boss.
Don't say I never warned you
When your train gets lost.

Very nice, tasteful.  That was well thought out.  Here in the states you see a lot of hokey ideas of native americans and the southwest.  That is really cool.  Good job.

Thank you all!

I guess If I ever have money to travel far from my country, I would go to States just to see places where Natives used to live.

I'm so flatered *tear* , to have a positive comment from Native American WOW! This is more than I could ever ask for

Thank you! In my country the only time they have heard about Native American was in the old western movies,  but I'm still getting nice comments.

And living in a country that is forgetting its culture and losing its symbols very fast, I feel really sad, as for us humans our culture should be our treasure. My heart aches for Native Americans, and I plea to all of you who have a drop of Native blood in you veins, keep your culture and your people's Spirit alive!

Lovely skirt! It seems like you've captured it without it being tacky at all. And I really like the lace-up detail on the sides.
