I was really into J-Rock in college and still love some of it.  One of my favorite bands is Malice Mizer, so I was inspired by the "rockin'" part of the challenge and picked one of my favorite members of the band- Mana.

One thing you should know is that Mana is a man.  That's right.  I have to have some respect for a person who is willing to go against established gender roles and do what he feels more comfortable with.  Mana is a great clothing designer and he is the main song writer for the band (if I'm not mistaken) so he is full of creativity as well as bravery.  Without further ado, here is my Mana-key:

*hopes that her website stays up so the pictures show up*

Larger versions of these pictures can be seen on my website.  I might put some more of the pictures I took up on there after I get home from work today.  Thanks for looking!

I did.  First I backstiched the outline, which I made with disappearing ink.  Then I did the satin stitch over the outline to try to give it a little bit of depth (is that the right word?).  Then I did an outline again to cover up some of the unevenness of the outside edge.

I'm glad you guys like it!  Smiley

Thanks!  I did indeed make the dress.  I found the perfect fabric at Joann's and some great lace at AC Moore.  I wish I had taken pictures during construction but I was in such a frenzy I didn't want to stop until it was done.  I do have some pictures of before I colored the hair and made the dress though.

I used that white curly hair from the doll aisle of the craft store and a permenant marker to make it blue (I think I may have killed some brain cells in the process, lol).  To get the bangs straight I put my curling iron on low heat and ran the curly hair through it.  Then I glued it all on and tacked some of the hair down with thread.

Here's a picture of the leftovers of the supplies I used.  Minus the curly hair and buttons of which there are none left  Wink

The dress is not removable, I sewed him in because I wanted a really nice line.  Also, Mana's hair changes from outfit to outfit in the pictures I've seen so there isn't any other outfit that the hair would really go with.  Grin

Oh, and here's a tail shot for good measure.  He's propped up in a plastic cup, hehe!
