I crocheted this for my friend Jimmy. But as soon as he saw the picture in the book, he decided he wanted a camoflauge hat also.

This was my first real, properly crocheted FO. When I first taught myself to crochet, I was accidentally doing ribs. Thanks to this book I figured it out.

P.S. It's kinda big cuz Jimmy has a big head. But he tried it on and it fit great. He wouldn't let me get a picture though Sad

congrats on your first FO! well.. first "proper" fo, at least. But who cares if you crochet wrong as long as you like the outcome!

I love it. It doesnt look all that big in the picture, though

I did this pattern last night and it was too small, so I took out the single crochet rounds and it fit better cause it could strech without them.

I made it a few more rounds than the original pattern, so its a little longer. That's what I really meant when I said it's 'big.'

I found the pattern to be rather big, but thats because I used a bigger hook then suggested.

A bit of a stash buster I used multiple bits of yarn.  I thought the red woven thru the middle of the blue gave it a more feminine touch.  Here it is modelled by my lovely fern!

FabulousErin, great job on the beanie - and congrats on your first "proper" FO; as vanillaxlight said, it doesn't really matter how you crochet (or do anything else) as long as you're happy with the product - but at least now you can take advantage of some great patterns!

Oops Creations, I love your signature - we're great fans of Bing Crosby at our house and one of our favorite albums is his Swinging on a Star album.
