i am african american and i don't find this offensive at all. it's a SOCK MONKEY. i wouldn't have even thought of racism until it was mentioned and even after it WAS mentioned, i still don't see it as racist. "Oh is has 'big lips' and it's a brown monkey". Um...that's what sock monkeys are always shaped like in the face. And it's brown because, shocker, Mr. T's skin is brown! Would you like it more if it were a green-socked Mr T? It's a stuffed animal. Portraying a person. That's it.

Not everything is racist and I find it pretty sad that everyone needs to find some excuse to bring up racism.

In other news, I love this sock monkey. In fact, I want one. to the OP, you are really talented!!

I was just looking at sock monkies, because I want to make one, and this is by far the best one I have seen so far.   I love it!

I pity the fool who don't see the humor in the monkey!

Ugly. Is irrelevant. It is an immeasurable insult to a woman, and then supposedly the worst crime you can commit as a woman. But ugly, as beautiful, is an illusion. - Margaret Cho
