I think Posh Spice has the knack of picking out the best dresses for her figure; i.e. stuff that normal people can never carry off. I don't know what designer this dress is from; but I'm sure Mrs Beckham will never settle for anything less than designer. Here are some pics of the dress that I recently saw:

Anybody knows of a similar pattern to this gorgeous dress? The material looks woollen to me... but it's crazy that she'd wear a woollen dress in the middle of summer. Suggestions, anyone?

B-b-but she's not your average Jane...she's about half the size of a regular person and has had quite a bit of help from men in white suits toting pointy instruments  Grin

Yow, this is a lovely dress--simple yet stunning!  Personally I think it would look better on a more natural girl, bu that's not the point.
The top looks like a regular fitted sleeveless shirt that is connected to a circle skirt.  It looks to me like each row of the skirt is sewn together, but maybe that's just creative stitchery.  I'm sure you'll be able to order a pattern for a regular circle skirt--there's even one here at crafster!--.  You may want to stick with a pattern that you know will produce the flowy/pleated look of this skirt.
The material looks like cashmere or a combination of silk and a few other things.  It also looks like light cotton (a less pricey alternative).

'Best of luck with this!  Please post the results if you do re-create this dress!

FWIW, it doesn't look like a dress to me, it looks like a top and separate skirt.  the give away is in the bottom left image, you can see a horizontal wrinkle at the waistline and another one radiating toward the right shoulder, both wrinkles are in the top but not the skirt.

in the link you posted you can click on the images and see HUGE enlargements.  in those enlarged images, you can see that the top has an inverted V design line, and the back has an upright V from the armscye that joins a horizontal seamline.  the skirt appears to be separate concentric circles that are faggoted together.

If you wanted it to be a dress, you could probably combine a good top pattern with a circle skirt pattern.  I would like the outfit as a dress better because then the material is all the same, not just matching color.  Of course if you did it out of a woven material it would need a big zipper in the back since the idea is to have it be fitted and it's hard to just jump into a fitted dress...  especially if your barbie-like top heavy.

Good luck!

P.S.  I looked around a bit and didn't find anything that was really the same, but I'm sure if you're savvy and willing to adapt a pattern or have it look a little different you'll find something!

craftycoug: Fortunately, I'm not top-heavy; I'm rather flat-chested actually. So if I do put in a zipper, where do you think it should be placed? I'm quite confused as to where Victoria's zip is, even under harsh scrutiny. It's definitely not on the back, and I don't see anything on the sides...

Unless the material's stretchy.. But I don't really know what material it is. Make a guess?

The top must be stretchy, otherwise it would need darts in the front for her melons.

I would most likely put the zipper in the back since that's how most dress patterns w/ zippers are, but you could put it in one side seam instead and it would be less visible.

Incidentally, I think Victoria might be a little bit overkill on the red.  The dress is good, but the red shoes and red purse are kinda over the top.  Of course when your that famous and posh, who cares?  Also, looking at the pictures on that other website... she is holding her cell phone backwards, what the heck is she doing?!

that is definately a skirt and a top. in the third pic you can see how the top is wrinkled and the bottom isnt and in the fourth pic you can see the contrast in the shades of red used.  and i heard that victoria has alexander mcqueen do all her clothes for red carpet events so its possible that thats his pieces althought it doesnt really look like it.  if you do do the outfit ad a skirt and a top it would be alot easier.  just a basic tank and an a-line skirt.  and alter a pattern to get the stripe detail. you could use a cotton for the skirt and a knit for the top.

i think theyre made of some stretch fabric.

and, if youre flat chested its not so relevant, but anyone with cleavage who wants to copy this may want to bring the neckline a little lower. big boobs + high neckline = uniboob or unflattering cleavage.
even ms beckham wouldve looked better with a more scooped neckline, i think.

Love her shoes.. wow..  Cheesy

But are you sure that this one is really a dress? For me it seems more like a top + skirt... and that should make this style easy enough to copy for everyone. Just buy a simple red top from H&M for few bucks and make a short full circle skirt in red fabric.

But still.. those shoes can be hard to copy..  Grin

The shoes (if you're looking to create similar ones) look like normal shiny red stilettos with pointy toes.  The back has laces with metal holders and from what I can see they don't hold the shoe together, they're just there for decoration.  The metal lace-holders can be bought at a craft store and glued on to the shoe.  I bet you can find better shoes to go with that outfit, though  Wink  The stilettos make the wearer look kind of...trashy?  Overenthusiastic?  Maybe flats would look better?  The large sunglasses fit the dress well, I think.
My apologies for my previous observation, that outfit -does- look like it's in two pieces.
