Craft for others what they can't craft for themselves!

Can you do a craft? Is there a craft you like but don't have the skills to make it yourself?

Swap name: Craft for others
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: hoxierice
Sign-up date range: July 1-July 16 2006
Date to send item by: August 18

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): NO

Non-U.S. participants allowed? OF COURSE

All ages allowed? Or 18+? All ages

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"
list and will not allow those members to participate: YES

Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES

Details of swap:
...
Discussion about this swap
Inspired by the I can knit/sew/crochet but I can't knit/sew/crochet Idea here

This swap allows you to craft what you craft best and receive a craft that you admire but can't do for yourself. For example a knitter may knit an item to send and receive jewelry.

Keep in mind you will have to contact your partner to get the information you need, and as it is summer be sure to note if you are taking a vacation or will not have internet access. I have also allowed a long crafting time to allow for periods of vacation where a crafter might not be able to work.

I try to match people up quickly, but it may be a bit of a challenge so please give me a day or two to post/sendout pairings.

You can be specific about what you can make and what you would like, and feel free to add links. I will post these lists and you can send me an updated questionare if you see something you want or that you can make

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address
Would you be willing to ship outside your own country if possible:

List of crafts that you can make:

List of crafts that you would like to receive:

Colors/symbols/patterns you like/dislike:

Allergies and aversions:

Anything else you would like to add:

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

So here it is, obviously you will be sending to and receiving from different people. Please remember I did the best I could, that not only did I have to match up what people wanted, but I had to find a person who could make it. I hope it all works out, if you want to send more to your partner feel free see whatelse they might like.
sorry about the name mispellings as a costumer having to put actors names in costumes we have been trained to SPELL NAMES RIGHT and my fingers got away from me. I will fix it when I have time

I hope lots of people sign up for this
As well as being a great idea for a swao, the more we have for this type of thing, the better the swap will be.

Okay, I really want to do this swap, but I also am concerned about whether anyone would want what I make.  My specialty is lampwork beads.  I particularly like making creatures.  For example....

Here is a previous post with more pics.
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=96079.msg909515#msg909515

Anyway, what if I sign up and no one wants lampwork beads/jewelry?
I can also make regular jewelry. Anywho, any suggestions?

I say join! Those are amazing! As a person who knows absolutely nothing about what you just posted (I looked at your link and googled lampwork beads) it is something I would love!

All you people with specific talents, don't be afraid to join this swap! We the creativity and individuality that comes when a person has a speciality!

jonnamarco - I don't know ANYONE who wouldn't want you as a swap partner!!!
Your beads are TOTALLY SPLENDERIFIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd swap with you in a heartbeat - I just don't think I make anything swappable.

I can tell you, Fall is composed of

1 part dead fish smell
1 part wet leaves
1 part arctic chilled air (not winter chilled variety)
2 parts crunchy walking
a pinch very cold rain
some apples you picked yourself
a few very still moments
a good deal of inner reflection
