I need to get someone to photograph me in it considering it's rather hard to photograph oneself >_>

That's always my problem.  It takes me forever to get a pic of me wearing a finished object.
I tried taking a mirror photo but the flash causes too much glare, you can never see much detail

This pattern sure has a lot of finishing, it's my least favorite part of knitting.  I'm so slow at the crochet edging and I spent way too much time knitting up the ties that I don't even like.  I don't know why I just didn't stop, I knew they were too long but I just kept plugging away figuring I'd trust the pattern and it would all make sense once I was done.   Roll Eyes
Please correct me if I'm wrong.............. It says to fold the ties lengthwise.  That means it's folded so it's half as wide but just as long.  Right?Huh
Even if the ties were folded the other way I don't think I'd like them, too bulky.
The picture in the mag doesn't show the ties at all. It seems they're tied in the back or on the side as the name of the pattern suggests.
But the ties would be hanging to the ground.    And if it were to be on the side, why are the ties the same length?
I think I'm wasting too much time and energy on these stupid ties!  That's what I think.

Instead I'm going to try little ties that don't wrap around, just tied on the inside and then another set of ties for the other front section on the outside.

Laneknees - Did you do the ties according to pattern?  Does it tie in the back?

Yes I did.

And they fold in half so they're half as long.
I tied them in back. it looks good that way with jeans, but I ended up crossing the ends and tucking them into my belt when I was wearing other clothing.

To tell you the truth, the only thing I don't like it the collar, have you already done it? if I were you I'd only do 8 rows of the eyelet rib, I ended up pinning the collar underneath some becuase it was too long.

Looks beautiful!    Have you been wearing it much?

I haven't had any time at all to knit.  Too much chaos going on over here.  I finally was able to grab my husband's computer just to check in (I can't get mine back online, waiting for cable guy).  I'm so close to finishing the vest though.  I just need to do the crochet edge around the perimeter and sew the straps on.  I've already done the collar and I see what you mean about it being a bit big but I like it.
