I'll get the ball rolling. This is what I'll be working on the next few days: natural color mill ends from Sheep shed studio. I spun while watching the prologue today and it was a lot of fun!

It's a long tour and I can't wait to see what everyone else is up to!

I'm also working with mill ends from sheep shed.  I'll post a pic after the weekend of my accomplishments.  Smiley  Darn those regular jobs that keep me from spinning.  Tongue

I finally have something worth taking pictures of   Smiley

This morning, I decided to spin some red, white and blue roving I have (from the fiber of the month club from spunky eclectic).  Once I started spinning, I remembered a crochet pattern for fireworks that I had.  After spinning and crocheting, I thought some beads would be fun.  I left long tails on the fireworks and tied bundles of three beads with long tails.  Then I connnected (ok, tied  Wink ) the strings together with a red or blue bead.  Only one tangled that had to be worked out.

I really like how it turned out.  It's only about 13yards though.  It sure was fun to experiment though.  I have plenty more roving, crochet thread and beads so who knows.  Maybe there will be more

oops!  yes, I almost forgot the pics Wink   here you go

My husband wanted me to starch the fireworks but I thought it was too hot for the iron

I'm on an alpaca kick right now, have different fleeces going on both of my flyer wheels and on my charkha. Today was panic day because it was the World Cup semifinals. Great game, but only 4 more days until my circular shawl has to be done. So today's spinning was fine alpaca singles on the charkha. Took much more time than I'd planned and then kept catching and breaking or entangling as I tried to skein it off the spindle. I decided to be good and set the twist, but here it is pre-set:
(not super exciting, I'll do something more colorful later this week)

btw, chipper, LOVE the fireworks yarn.

I think I need to set up a flickr account.  But until then, here's what I spun up yesterday:

mill ends dyed with kool aid, 230 yards total
