Happy Birthday July!!!! My name is Ruth and I turned 30 on July 2. I live in Chicago and am a single girl with no kids (though I also consider myself a full time Aunt b/c I have 18 nieces/nephews.) I work as a protien/analytical scientist. Although I am an urban dweller, I love the outdoors and miss living closer to green spaces. I am a vegetarian and I have a new found love of the sea turtle, but like all underwater creatures in general. My favorite colors at the moment are kelly green and pink or pretty much any green/pink combo, I also really like purple and tourquoise. Pretty much my two obsessions in life are glass and Jane Austen, which I think makes me a bit odd. Crafting wise, I knit, sew, quilt, crochet (a little) and do a bit of jewelery making. It is a good escape for me, but I am becoming more and more of a hermit because of my love of crafting.
And here is my birthday wish list.....
1. Stensiled t-shirt (I wear women's size S, youth XL) I'd love a shirt with something asain inspired on it like cherry blossoms, bamboo, lotus flowers etc.
2. 12 1/2 inch quilt blocks for the craftster quilt I will one day make
3. needle felting supplies, I have been wanting to try this it looks so cool
4. a small jewelery bag for traveling, at the moment my jewelery is a big mess on my dresser so really anything to help me organize it. Any sort of drawstring bag would do, but I would love something with dividers in it
5. jewelery, I love earrings and necklaces. I love the look of big chunky necklaces, but don't know if I could pull that look off.
6. note cards
7. zippered pouch
8. mixed cd (I am stealing L's idea here, but I think its a great idea)
9. travel sewing kit, like in an altoid tin
10. fabric of any kind
11. purse, I love them and you can never have too many
12. suprises, who doesn't like birthday suprises
Thanks to everyone and Happy Birthday!

Hi All!
Happy birthday to all the July babies. I'm Heather, and I live in the UK; I turned 25 on the 2nd, which I celebrated by spending two days at Alton Towers, a theme park in the UK. As far as crafts go, I particularly enjoy sewing and knitting, and I also do embroidery, crochet, papercrafts, lacemaking, etc. I'm a photography dabbler. I'm just getting into gluebooking and altered books.
My favourite colour is purple, and also peacock tones. I like combinations of red or pink & black, and patterns like stripes, polkadots, stars, etc.
I listen to lots of rock/emo & English folk music, with current favourites being Coheed & Cambria, Panic At The Disco, The Receiving End of Sirens /Eliza Carthy, Karine Polwart, Chumbawamba, Oysterband. I have an odd liking for Dolly Parton.
Ooh, themes & interests. I seem to like burlesque, Lemurs, urban decay cityscapes, rollercoasters (RITA!), clubbing. I'm a LARPer (live action roleplaying); I play an apothecary in a medieval system called BladeLands.
I have two nieces - Chloe who is 20 months & Emma who is 2 weeks old.
I'm about to move to Birmingham in the UK, to live with my sweetie, and start a new job as a PA. The company i'm going to work for seem to be very high fashion casual ladies, and I somehow need to fit in with that dress stye! Eeek!
I'd be very grateful if someone would like to make me:
Sewn items:
A needle roll for knitting needles, with a pocket for cable needles, stitch markers, tiny scisors, etc
A smart tote suitable for taking my knitting to work & S'n'B sessions
A tape measure purse - so cool!
A cute deer doll - I loved these ones -
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=70562.0
A cosy for my 60G iPod Video - I like this style -
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=80269.0
Zip pouches of all sizes
A make up bag - I've just started wearing makeup, and I have an ugly free one ATM. It's about 6inches by 8 inches, and already full!
Knitted items:
I love fingerless gloves, I like these ones
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=73476.0
, or the ones Rose wore in the season finale episode of Dr Who - Doomsday. I can't find screencaps at the moment. Or these
http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTfetching.html
-
Thank you Inle_rah!
These are really cute, and would suit Emma! -
http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTtuliptoes.html
She's probably a 0-3 size
Papercrafts:
Altered book bits or tip ins (
http://www.lisavollrath.com/pages/188
) to give me further inspiration about altered books
A coptic book binding tutorial kit - I want to learn how to do it so I can sew some song books for the LARP group.
Other items:
Jewellery - I have lots of bracelets from craftster, and I love choosing from them. I also like necklaces, but I don't have pierced ears. I'd especially like jewellery that is suitable for work.
A microscope slide necklace
A stencilled tshirt - something to do with any of my themes/interests would be lovely. I like either spaghetti strap vests or fitted cap sleeve womens tops, UK size 12 or medium (bust 40 inches, waist 28inches)
Things for my darling nieces - they wear a lot of pink! Chloe is at that stage where she likes putting things in other things, loves books and reading, eats a lot of fruit, and plays with pretend food a lot. Emma is just cute as a button at the mo!
Mix CDs - I'm particularly into Folk or emo likemusic, but I like most music with the exception of pop/hip hop/R'n'B! I got an iPod recently, and this would b a great way to fill it with music
Acrylic paint fabric medium - i'm just beginning to play with stencils myself, and I can't find fabric medium around here.
Mod Podge - Another thing I can't seem to find around here.
While I know it's a bit of a cheeky ask, I'd love to have some copies of the Monthly Muse - Lisa Vollrath's art zine. I think it'd be just what I need to kick start my artistic creativity! -
http://www.lisavollrath.com/pages/category/tentwo/mm/
- I'm especially interested in the March & June 2006 issues.
Surprises - I love getting presents and surprises, so if it's something you'd like making I'm sure I'd love to recieve it
Thank you to anyone thinking about crafting for me!

Happy Birthday to all my fellow July babies! My birthday is July 24, making me a Cancer/Leo cusp. It gets interesting at times
I'll be turning 29 and am panicking slightly at being one year closer to 30. I'm in the US, in the wilds of western Massachusetts.
Here's a list of some things I would love to receive...
Specific items-i have a list below of themes/things I like, so any of these items could be made using those ideas. I like to make it easy, you know?
-a felt iPod and/or Nintendo DS cozy. I have an older iPod, 3rd generation? it's the larger size that still has buttons above the wheel, but I don't need one with holes for the buttons, just something to keep it safe in my purse. I would love the Nintendo DS cozy to have pockets for storing games. I'd prefer wool felt to regular felt, it seems a little sturdier, and maybe with something fun appliqued on the outside.
-a stenciled tshirt or tote. i've tried some stenciling, but I've seen people on here do some really awesome stuff
I wear a size L women's tshirt and would prefer a regular tshirt over a fitted or baby tee. I'm, um, well-endowed, and the fitted tees usually don't fit as well.
-my weird hobby is cemetary photography, so a photo album i can store prints in would be neat. or just something with a general cemetary theme.
-small jewelry box, maybe decoupaged or painted?
-notecards or stationery are always useful, especially since I've picked up a couple of penpals recently.
-knitting stitch markers
-thanks pengiuno!
-Mix CD's! I love music, pretty much all types except country and rap or hip-hop. I've been listening to some stuff that could be classified as trip-hop lately which I've been liking, but am always interested in getting new types of music.
-I'm going back to school in the fall, so maybe something like a pencil case to keep in my bag, or some nifty folders/notebooks. I'm going into a Surgical Technology program, so dorky stuff related to that would also be fun. Or something for stress relief when I need a study break, tea or a puzzle book or something.
-Keeping with the birthday them, I like Leo-themed stuff.
-Knit/felt/crochet toys or dolls.
-a needle felting kit, I've been wanting to learn to do that for a while.
-charm bracelets, or enamel/resin necklaces, like this one:
http://www.etsy.com/view_item.php?listing_id=210162
-a surprise! I do like surprises.
Supplies:
-gemstone beads/bead chips, sterling silver charms or clasps, or thin wire/beadalon for jewelry making
-fabrics-I like Michael Miller, Alexander Henry, Amy Butler, asian themes, halloween
-hand-dyed yarn, esp. sock yarn
-crochet hooks, I am hoping to learn to crochet soon. Maybe a set in fun colors?
Themes -
My favorite animals are frogs, koi fish, black cats, phoenixes, dragons, lobsters, moose. Some of my favorite musicians include Tori Amos, David Bowie, Dresden Dolls, Cruxshadows, Flogging Molly, and Nine Inch Nails. I love Tim Burton, dia de los muertos and halloween themed things, Harry Potter, Neil Gaiman's fiction and the Sandman series, arthurian legends, pirates, skulls. I am also into Lost, Project Runway, Gilmore Girls, House, and the Simpsons. I knit, cross stitch, read, make jewelry, do some sewing, and dabble in lots of other crafts, like sewing little felt creatures or decoupage and painting. Favorite colors include red, black, purple, green, pretty much any darker jewel-tone shades. I'm developing a small fondness for pink, but in brighter shades, and I hate yellow.

Happy Birthday
Stuff About Me:
I’m in Ohio, USA. My birthday was July 3rd. I love art and spend more time drawing/painting more than “actual” crafting. I cross-stitch, stencil, and can sew simple stuff. I make simple jewelry with beads too (bending wires is fun). I love anime, Chronicles of Narnia, video games, tofu, cute and fuzzy animals like those of Sanrio or San-x style (actually, anything cute I would like), geeky stuff (especially robots), tea, vintage styles, Victorian styles, Renaissance and Impressionist art styles, and Japanese/Chinese/Korean/Asian things. I like moss green, deep purple, silver, dark blue, and basically all other colors in random combinations. I don't have my ears pierced.
Notice: I'm going travelling for a while so I might not respond for a while (from now till the 4th of August.)
If you pick me, thanky and I'll send you a thank you note asap. There will be people picking up my mail for me (I <3 my neighboors) so you don't have to worry about me receiving.
If I'm sending you something, sorry about the delay...I'll get it out asap after the 4th.
here's my very random list in no particular order:
- A sushi scarf like this:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=77910.0
-Fingerless gloves/arm warmers/cuff-like things like these:

http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTfetching.html
or any other kind
Um…I have a rather thin arm ...pm me for measurements if you need to
-A Kanzashi flower on a broach, hair clip, or spring clip. Like the third and forth one on here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=66747.0

Happy Birthday all you July Babies! This my friends is a great idea for a swap! And on to the lists and getting to know a little bit about me!
My name is Kelly-Ann, I just turned 23 on July 3rd and I'm currently homeless. The lease ended at my boyfriend and I's apartment on the 30th and we haven't resigned anywhere here in Orlando, Fl because we are hoping to move to Ft.Myers, Fl for a job. (So keep your fingers crossed!) Anything you kindly send my way will be sent to my parents' house and I will get it from there because we are currently jumping from friend's house to friends house for living. (Oh the joy of storage spaces, otherwise we'd really be screwed!) But enough about that! I love me some stars! Stars of all kinds ! Up in the sky and on anything at all! I'm fascinated with sea life especially octopuses (I couldn't stop staring at Davy Jones whenever he took the screen in Pirates 2! His tentacles are mesmerizing!) I dig faeries, mermaids, brownies, dwarves, gnomes and any generally magical being and just magic in general. I'll all about anything and everything Harry Potter, so I bet you've figured out that I'm convinced I'll get my Hogwarts letter on my 24th birthday bc obviously 11-23 have been a bust
I can't wait till we finally have our own place again and get settled so we can get a puppy! I'm a newly graduated Graphic Designer looking for work and inspiration. I'm a hippie, but not a vegan or vegetarian. I like all kinds of music although country, rap, most stuff on the radio and techno (most of it makes me twitch... i dunno... i guess its the neverending loops of the same synthesized beats...) aren't in the vast minority. I'm a Girl Scout and always prepared (I can't stand not to be) so you'll find almost anything in my bag. I'm the "mom" of my firends bc of this, but I've embraced it
I'm the queen of procrastination like my avatar says, but I always get it done
I'm a dork, that loves technology, diy, my family and friends, vector design, art nouveau, colorguard/winterguard, photography, my boy, my Mac, tye dye everything, Ryan McGinness and this site. Anything else you can't figure out from stalking my posts or checking out my sites below, just ask
I'm always up for some crafty chit chat!
And now the list!
(1) This necklace:
ok so maybe not this
exact
one since its so much $$ but I would be greatly indebted to you if you made one. Jewelry isn't something I've ventured beyond beads and string in just yet.
(2) This book:
http://www.fredflare.com/customer/product.php?productid=1966&cat=329
Tease, I just saw it in Barnes n Noble, it looks like a lot of fun
and I could use the direction. I can visualize final pieces, but not patterns just yet!
(3)A DIY Embroidery Kit. I admire everyone else's, I'd like to think I could muster up the attention span to complete one myself. I really enjoy Sublime Stitching's patterns. Lemme know if you want to take this on and I'll let you know which patterns are my fave.
Thanks Alwaysinmyroom You are the best organizer ever
(4) A pirate shirt. I like odd placement & witty sayings in interesting typefaces. The rest is up to you! PM me for sizing
These are just amazing
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=106335.0
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=105760.0
(5) An eye pillow with some kind of strap to keep it from falling off when I lay on my side.
(6) A resin-something keychain. Resin casting is so cool, but I can't take that on right now. Chunky jewelry isn't my thing, but keychains are dandy! (Check out my sites and some of the links I list for ideas on my kind of art and imagery if you need help) these are really neat:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=73947.0
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=33776.0
yeah not a keychain... but these would be awesome for that!
(7) A nice big closeable bag to keep all of my knitting and stash in. My stash isn't that large yet, right now it is in one of these over-sized brown paper gift bags. Something with straps to make it all portable with pockets or some kind of area to organize my needles and other notions would be stellar, but is certainly not required! This one is awe-some-o:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=82122.0
ooo-ooo.. light bulb! a bag with the Crafty Jolly Roger with the knitting needles on it! Ya know the Craft Pirate logo thingy from Craftster Swag ? or just some craftster swag hehe
( 8 ) A monster cozy for my DS Lite! Her name is Shy Violet
something like one of these would be dreamy!:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=86803.0
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=102991.0
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=93548.0
( 9 ) Anything from or inspired by my Wists. I'm still getting into the Wists thing (yeah i jumped on that band wagon too
) so I'm always adding things.
( 10 ) Surprise me! Stalk me for info, check out my websites (in my sig below) or
http://www.myspace.com/starsview83
if you need anything else. My Links area is a pretty good idea of what art I'm into. My fledgeling wists might be of use as well
http://wists.com/starsview
Oh and one last thing! Colors! Maroon/ Burgundy is my favorite. I really am a fan of all colors, except for puke-related ones and Pink. Pink has its place just not generally with me. And gold and I are on rocky grounds... Silver and me are old pals though!
Thank-you
in advance if you pick me! I should only be so lucky to receive something from this crafty bunch!
*edit*
so the links on my site don't work correctly at the moment. if you click them they don't load bc it loads my site and the linked site all as one address, I don't have the time or know exactly how to fix it at this point (I'm still working my way through webdesign) so i apologise, but if you just delete the name of my site and leave the name of the linked site and hit enter everything should work just fine. Sorry for the inconvenience!
I fixed them! They all work fine!
And to whoever was originally going to craft for me, I hope your Flaker situation gets worked out! Don't worry, Flakers aren't the majority on Craftster! I'm sure the next swap you join will be great!
*edited to fix picture link*
