Ok, I'm done.  Smiley  (I cheated and made this dress after finishing my costume but before starting Lydia's.)  I never ever thought that I'd be able to wear it w/o a bra... but sure enough it's plenty supportive without one.  The hemline had a weird long spot that I kept trimming a little off of, and now it's close enough to even to suit me for now.  In the back view you can see the wrong side of the fabric... and my VERY long tails.  lol.  One's even longer than the other, I definitely need to trim them a bit.  Anyway without further delay, here it is:

Jutybo, from post number 184 on page 19, this dress as a maternity top looks SO CUTE on you!  Although I'm sure by now you've had your baby a long time ago.  lol.  Especially with the handkerchief-style hemline.  Love it.  Smiley

Thank you so much!   Grin  And yep, my baby girl will be a year old next month... and that much closer to crafting her own clothes herself!   Wink
I look forward to seeing pics of what you end up making!

Ok, now that I have more than 10 posts... I edited the post two posts above this one w/ actual pictures instead of just links.  Smiley

Has the fad passed now, or are people still planning to make this dress?  Smiley

I've been dying to have this dress forever (I even asked for it in a swap!)  I'll get around to making it one of these days!

I'm still making it. I had a black top (I cut it down from the dress I made since I had worn the dress once due to my embarrassment of my horrible veiny legs Sad  ) and wore the top alot. Alas, someone threw it in the regular wash and ruined it, so now I need to make another black one, and a turquoise one, and a burgundy one, and a navy one, and a .... Well, you get the picture. Cheesy Plus, now that it's boot season, I do need the dress and must make another one of those now too.

It's just too versatile a piece not to have one in each of your best colors, and also to have it in tops and in dresses. Add a collection of shrugs and you're set. Smiley

I'd still love to make the dress.  I can't find any fabric, but I'd love to make it.

WOW!  That is crazy!  Maybe they got the idea from rostitchery.. her blog says PLEASE NOTE:  the instructions for making this dress are available for free but are not to be used for commercial purposes. please do not sell dresses made using these instructions, and do not make copies of the instructions without asking my permission first.  thank you!

I doubt it, but.. maybe.
I do think that would be a great idea for bridesmaids dresses though, considering how simple they'd be to make. Maybe for my wedding I'll get ambitious and make some myself!  I'm sure my bridesmaids would be happy not having to spend $100's of dollars for a dress they'd only wear one time.
