I was posting other pictures on Craftster and realized that I'd never posted the second dress that I made.

This is my adorable sister and the awesome purple dress. I made this one with a slightly stretch purple satin that was matte on one side and shiny on the other. I decided to make the skirt matte and the straps shiny so that as you wrapped it, the opposite side didn't look out of place. I love the effect it gave.

The front:

Oooh la la! The back!!

And, of course, a much more demure back picture:

I love the way that she's able to wear it with a completely open back.

Gorgeous! and what a good idea to reverse the fabric so that it wraps properly!! This is still one of the most flattering dress for everyone--I love how she can wear the back so open like that!!

Wonderful job on both dresses

and, yeah, dom, I got it--six inch straps!! ha ha

I <3 dom! The daughter I never had!!!  Kiss

And she wants this dress, which of course, I have told her how many hours I will have to take to make it  Wink, and that she will have to send me lots and lots of knitted goodies because of all the intricate sewing, fitting, etc.  Cheesy

So ladies, be sure to tell her how hard this dress is to make... Cheesy

I can't believe I just read all 67 pages of this post...it took two days.  The only stretch jersey in my stash is a little bit of pink with metallic stars from one of my girls' halloween costume.  Walmart's open but I'm broke....grrr Angry
Must buy fabric...must make dress...

Great job everybody!! What a fun project...hopefully I'll be able to make a dress and get it on here on page 100...I don't see this post stopping!

Hey, I made three of these dresses! Two I made before August, and one in September, but have only just got around to posting pics!

This one makes me feel like Marilyn Monroe:

I love the colour of this one and wore it to my Dad's birthday meal and got a lot of nice comments from the women who went (Daddy's a bit of a pimp  Cool):

I wore this one (made with a tight pencil skirt) to my 18th birthday party in September (it was a cocktail party and everyone had to wear cocktail dresses and suits) and loads of people were amazed that I made it:

And I Love purple, but didn't have enough material for a full dress, so made this top (and love it):

I love this dress, it's so versatile, I just want one in every colour! I'm planning on making a top in grey and one in red.

Let me know what you think. x

All of the dresses are amazing!!!

prettyandpetite: I love them all!!!  They all look great on you, and I too think you should go ahead and make the tops and dresses in every colour.  This way you will never run out of clothes to wear Smiley.  One question, how long were your straps?  They seem short to me, which I like, because of the sleeker look.

(I have yet to make mine)

OMG!!! Those are gorgeous!!! I especially love the turquoise color, and your innovative use of a pencil skirt - SUCH a GREAT idea!!!
