My friends are getting married next year, and i wanted to make something for them. I know there is another forum for this, but I wanted specifically to embroider something for them.  I made them pillow cases as a house warming gift with some swallows and a banner saying sweet dreams (sublime stitching) and I was thinking of maybe trying to do a wall hanging type thing.  They love tattoos and rockabilly stuff, so I was thinking something along the lines of that.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to put a design together, and what kind of time line I should give myself?

Or any other suggestions of what I can make them? I wish I knew they were getting married when the bought the house! I would have given them the pillow cases for the wedding!

What about a new set of pillowcases. Maybe the heart and dagger tattoo pattern with the wedding date and either their names or Mr. & Mrs.? How about a square pillow with something similar? I, personally,  would get it done right away so that I wouldn't get freaked out about a deadline, that's just me though.
Good luck and keep us posted!

that's an awesome idea actually.  I really like that.  I love the Mr. and Mrs idea.  I could do a few different things in that theme as well.

And you are right knowing me I should start on this soon!

Samplers are nice wedding presents too...I often make a framed embroidered piece with the couple's names and the wedding date and location on it for wedding presents. You could make something like this with the swallows and the banners, to keep with the theme, and it would be really cute!

How about a tattoo pattern that works in their new monogram/combined names and wedding colors? I embroidered my friend's new monogram on a hanky in her wedding colors and framed it for her as a wedding present. She loved it!  Just make your's edgy by making it a tattoo flash pattern.

or maybe a whole kitchen set like napkins and a tablecloth or maybe placemats and towels...Or maybe a shoebag or wet bathing suit bags if they were going on a honeymoon where they may swim...I was thinking about this too cause my luggage tags break but maybe cool luggage tags, not sure how you'd do it but.... i'm still waiting on my wedding sampler from 13 years ago...surely my MIL done by now!  LOL.

luggage tags are on my to do list.  I was thinking about using fun foam and that plastic lacing.  And then a cute design or fun saying like "nothing worth stealing in here" on the back side.

i'll keep watching for ideas for myself.
