I read something in the paper about the do not call/ tele preference service- with cheap international calls, companies are simply moving to countries where there is no code of conduct and since there's no international agreement, there's nothing the various national registries or bodies can do.  actually I've noticed a big increase in spam lately, to 'public' email addresses and to ones that I never give out.  Wonder if it's just coincidence.

Probably is, I'm getting more again.  The ones that are ads, asking for money, etc.  I forward to  spam@uce.gov from there it's upto them...

did someone already suggest what etsy does - lock convo's if more than a certain # are sent out within a certain time?
or what craigslist does - that you can't just copy + paste the same content again and again?

I was obviously missed in that first spam sweep - but now I'm actually 'someone', and I've just received a crappy spammy PM. So yeah - they haven't stopped yet. God, this is so boring and frustrating. I think I'll pop their email address on a few maillists. See if they like wading through spam.
