I have made a few stencil T-shirts so far and I just love it. Thanks everyone for all the wonderful info on here and the inspirations.

I have a few questions though..

So you wash the shirt without fabric softener and dry it to pre shrink it. Paint your stencil on and depending on your paint. Let dry and heat set the paint. After that when you wash the shirt I know that you have to leave it inside out to wash it and it would be best to let it air dry but you can put it in the dryer. Question is can you use fabric softener after you have heat set the paint in the shirt?

The other question I have is I have found a lot of stencils on line and several on Craftster. Thanks to everyone that post them and to everyone that puts up links for other sites that have them available. I have also read tutorial after tutorial about converting a picture into a stencil. I don't have the fancy programs or anything but I do have some programs on my computer and I still cannot get any of my pictures to turn into good stencils. I can get color images into good stencils no problem but not these photos that I want to change.

Would anyone be willing to help me out with this. More importantly convert 1 or 2 pics I have into a stencil for me and then possibly try to walk me through how to convert them myself. Pretty please?

I would even be willing to make an exchange- stencil and teaching for something handmade perhaps (we can work out the details later)!! Any takers? PM me please.

Thanks in advance!!!

Here is one of the pics that I am trying to convert.

i'll pm you.

I will be out of state until February. I may be able to check emails periodically so if you need me, it would be more timely to email me. Thanks. ANY OWED SWAP PACKAGES WILL GO OUT BEFORE I LEAVE.
