How has the spoon rest held up? I know the top of my stove heats up especially if the oven is on, and I'd be worried about the spoon rest melting.

It's goooood  Smiley  I've never had it on the stove when I'm using it... for some reason, I always put it the right of the stove, on the counter.  Maybe because I'm right-handed?

Ok do i live in the worlds most un crafty place in the world ,, but iam sorry ive never seen those tins anywhere> where the heck did you find them? do they have glass ? plastic? over the lid?

Hehehe, that's funny!  Nah, you don't.  Smiley  I buy them on the internet & it looks like they are actually located in Gettysburg, PA.  Here's the site... http://www.clayalley.com/tins.htm  Minimum orders are $10, before shipping, but they have a ton of other stuff ya can stock up on if ya wanted.  Smiley

They have plastic in the lid & it's some crazy hard plastic that didn't melt at all in the oven!  I just flipped the lid over, put enough beads to fill it flat with one layer & baked it.  Wa-la!

i really want to get back into melting beads but the fumes are too much for all of us.

Plus, when my family cooks things, the fumes still linger.  I'm going to have to hold off on this project for a while. Drat!

But, I can keep my love of melting beads alive with seeing all the neat things you're coming up with!

Aw Sad  That sucks, but if the fumes bother ya at all...it's totally not worth it!  Smiley  If ya want something melted, I'd be more than happy to make & send ya something...anything anytime.  Smiley

I dunno.  I think it might be below his scope of knowledge.  He's prolly melting beaded sheets to build you a stained glass greenhouse or something crazy, right now!

You know, I didn't think about that. My mom and I are both lefthanded so spoon rests have always sat on the stove, in between the sets of burners.

Haha, my husband just asked me "When am I going to get to stop smelling that smell again?" (because the front of our house is his law office) By the time he stops work, I have tons of things waiting to go into the oven that I stacked up and haven't posted all the things I've done either, I'd love to see what Kappy has done too. Everytime I walk into a store I see something that I could melt beads in, or oooo that would look neat if it was done melty bead style.. thank goodness I am going vacation tomorrow, away from the oven.... hmmmmm if I take some beads maybe i could test the GRILL (maybe it will keep the bears away and auhhhman not that smell again my husband!!)... and I can use my phone to post :Cheesy hehehe.

Some reason I missed the spoon holder when I scrolled down, I love the way your spikes turned out. I always put my spoon on the counter next to the stove too, but some how it still never makes it to the spoon holder.. hmmm. Cheesy

You came in from the darkness and held the door open wide
You stood there like a vision before my unbelieving eyes
I believe in what I see and also what I hear
But did the night play tricks on me or were you really there.

i love the little tin lids! I have tons of similar tins left over from when I made my wedding favors. But the plastic lids on mine seem pretty thin so I don't know if they'd hold up well in the oven... Undecided
