I'm confused about the indents. What are we suppose to do?

Ok, the indent at the bottom of the shirt is a space about an inch wide along the seam. It's not a totally major part of the construction, but if you look at the picture of me cutting the ties you can see I had started sewing about an inch in from the side seams and the piece that I'm cutting is the leftover that was cut away.  So this way when you sew the ties inside the shirt you'll be sewing along that hem which should make it a tad more sturdy. 
Basically, if you start sewing from the bottom, begin about one inch inside of the side seam, and that's your "indent."  Then when you make your ties, the bottom end of that section that has been cut away is the end that goes inside the shirt which you sew down.

Let me know if that still is confusing... I dunno, it sounds weird when I read it to myself but I can't think of how to describe it properly.   Hm...
