That is amazing. What a lucky niece, and you such a sweet aunt to make her an heirloom!

I just have to add to the masses and say how absolutely amazing this is ... this is an heirloom that will undoubtedly get passed down for generations.  What a beautiful, wonderfully 'traditional' thing!  Brilliant.

Just a thought, there are only a few days to go to put in submissions for the Knitty calendar. I think it would be great if this was submitted.

I'm getting married next year and would cry if my aunt made me something like that. Way to go!

I have been admiring this for weeks now.  It's been a rough year for my best friend (who I adore more than words can say), and now she's moved off to college on her own, with no friends or family, and can't come home this Christmas.  I would love to fly down and surprise her with a gift like this.  I don't suppose it would do any good to offer you any asking price (yes that means $) AND my first born child for a rough pattern?  I know how busy you are, so please don't feel obligated to even reply, but I would really appreciate it if you would even consider it...
