I just got my DS Lite on Monday (which I named Lulu), and I've already sewn a case for it. Now, let me tell you.. I am not crafty. At all. I can work a sewing machine a bit, but thats about it. You all inspired me to make my own DS Case. I tried looking for a tute but I didnt really find any. I tried to pick of some methods from bags and other Ds cases I've seen here.. and this is what I got:

(Mind my crappy camera)

It has 3 little pockets inside for DS games. I would've put a pocket for a GBA game, but I dont know how big they are. The outside is dark, dark brown corduroy. It is lined with some felt, for padding. I got all the fabric and felt from Goodwill! I have some of the pattern stuff left that I'd like to do something with, but I'm not sure what. Oh, and I did not measure anything, as I wouldnt know what to do with the measurements anyway. I ran into some problems with the inside part, on the top. I've never sewn anything this intricate, so I'm happy Grin

Thanks! Well.. Probably about 2 hours. Maybe 2 and a half. About 4 if you count the first try. I didn't really go into it with a lot of thought or planning, so thats why it took two tries.

I like it!  I love corduroy and the material inside is cute.
I want to make one for my son and corduroy is a good idea!

The corduroy is really nice. I just wonder if its going to pick up dog hair or fuzz or anything. It had been suggested to me to put the corduroy inside, but then I think my DS would get fuzz on it.

Nice job.  I've been thinking about making a case for my DS Lite all weekend.  I'm trying to figure out what I want pockets for; ie regular charger, usb charger, car charger, headphones.  I didn't even think about pockets for games.  Once my ideas come to fruition, I will post pics.  I hope you are enjoying your DS Lite as much as I am.  Wink

jesintexas, I know what you mean. I had thought of that too, but then I just realized I was making it to keep it from getting scratched, really. And anything else I wanted to carry along could go in my purse. Except the games, cause they'd get lost easy. I love my DS Lite Grin

Thank you. I love the lining, too. I want to use it for something else but I don't know what.
