I impulse purchased a denim dress. It looked ok when it was laid on the floor. But it was ugly on me, because my body is hourglass-shaped and  the dress didn't have any darts or shaping seams. So I basically used the dress as a fabric and created new one, and embellished with beads. I saved bottom frills and shoulder straps, and used them again, so that I can still have the washed denim look.
With no further explanation, here are the photos...

These are the before and in-process shots..
You can see how baggy it was before...I don't know what I was thinking when I was buying it!! Huh

well...color me AMAZZEEEDDDDD
so impressive.  yes the original dress was somewhat lackluster...but geeze....it looks so cool, now.  I'm assuming you've taken some sort of classes for pattern making.  Kind of blew my mind, your pattern pieces.  I'm so informally/unprofessionally reconstructing...bu t seeing your dress.. makes me think i need to take classes.
ahh fantastic job, again.
..sigh...
