Hi. I'm very new to this whole swap thing. I noticed that there have been totebag swaps and in fact that one that has already closed is going out as we speak. I was wondering if there plans for another soon. If so, what are the themes, guidelines, etc? I'd even be willing to help organize if I could learn the essentials of doing so. How about a theme of totebags made from either recon-ed materials or unsual (but durable) materials?

Sure, we can do a private swap if no one else wants in. And if we get one more, we can all make 2 and all three  of us will get two new bags. I can't believe no one else wants to swap bags! ... err, or else they're all in the seasonal bag swap for summer. Cheesy

Is there anything specific you're looking for? Favorite colors, whatever?

I love tote bags because I'm a student and also work at the library. So, I'm always lugging books around. I can't help it; I can't leave my apartment without several books, and my crochet stuff if I'm working an evening at the circulation desk. My totes get a lot of use. Cheesy

Sorry it's taken my so long to reply. You're a student, too. So you understand my love for large bags. I too, need something I can carry all my "essentials" in, however, overkill they might be... Anyways, I love ska and the whole b&w checkered thing. I also love bright red and burgundy. I buy/ make most of  my bags with slightly longer straps so I can wear them across my chest so I don't put too much stress on one individual shoulder at a time. (Those books get mighty heavy on long walks). What kind of fabrics/colors/styles are you into? I can knit (somewhat) too, if you wanted something of that nature. At present, I am actually working on a "marled" (sp?) messenger style tote that has a black and plum color scheme. It will be about 12 to 15 inches wide horizontally and about 15 or so inches tall when it's fished. I haven't decided if I want to use it for donut pie (the biz my friend and I own) or if I want to use it for swap purposes. If it sounds appealing to you I could tailor it more to your specifications.
