I've been working on this bag for a few months now and I am finally done!!!  I am so happy with how it turned out.

The watermelon slice measures 18 x 10 (inches) and with the strap it is 18 x 26.  I chenilled the pieces using 100% quilting cotton. It is interfaced with crafters fleece and lined with black kasha lining (the same as the strap).

You chenilled the cotton? How do you do that?

Very cute bag.

Very cute bag.

Take several layers of cotton fabric (make sure the fabric has not been washed).  In my case I used pink as my lining, 3 shades of red and black for the seeds.  Chalk mark lines 3/8'' apart along the bias.  Then sew along the chalk mark lines.  Taking care not to cut the lining cut the top layers between the stitching lines.  Fully wash then dry and voila!
