question/problem- i made my circle skirt so the middle circle was the same measurement as my waist and then when i sewed it all together (band, straps, and skirt) i couldn't really put it on b/c the thread would break and did not allow the waist part to stretch as i had planned.  so any ideas or corrections i could do so i could actually put the dress on would be helpful! thanks

ALWAYS use zigzag stitch on knits/ stretcable garments...

Quick question: what width of fabric did you use for your straps? and did you taper them? they look a little narrower at the ends

Thank you! x

kinkyknit  I used 9" straps.  measure b/w ur boobies, over them, and all the way to your arm pits.  I recommend 2-way stretch so you won't have to mess with darts, zippers, etc.

I've got a kind of girlyish question:
:cough: uuh. chest support?
I guess the thickness of the fabric sort of depends on the level of support, but I'm not seeing wearing a bra with one of these dresses..I was kind of wondering about that...

eta: um... maybe this view is less flattering than rostitchery's: http://lydiasilvestry.com/index.php?action=website-view&WebSiteID=262&WebPageID=6202
hee hee.

I have to agree - a bad hair situation is not solved by wrapping your dress around it...

ok so here's me modeling my dress in the band room after a long school day.  i wore a cami underneath and did the more modest shoulder covering tie so it would be school appropriate.  It also fit that days theme of school color purple and gold!! i want to  make another in a different color, but i have trouble finding fabric.

Looks great, Mento!
This is the rostittchery version, and not the Lydia Silvestry version, right?

Love the color on you...so rich!

This is sooo exciting.  I'm going to make one.  mento -- too cute.  Thank you rostitchery, for the tutorial on your wonderful blog, and thank you, Keena, for the link that made me have to make this dress.
