My cat likes to eat purses.  Luckilly he's only gotten to my cheap ones, but I have a really nice coach bag that I saved up for and I accidently left it within kitty reach last night and came home to a mangled strap.  I cried for about half an hour and then calmed down.  I thought I would be able to order a replacement strap from coach but they said not for my specific bag.  Does anyone have an idea of how I could fix this?

Can you post pictures of the mangled strap and bag?

I will do that later.  I'm at work now.  I'm so sad though!  Embarrassed It's so disappointing when you waited so long to get something you wanted and then have it eaten up.  I don't even know why my weird cat eats things, thats what dogs are supposed to do!

That really is strange -- does the cat eat only purse straps or other things as well?  Sounds like she has a need to chew -- do you have a chew toy for her?

I hate to admit this but a good leather repair or luggage repair shop might be the best idea.  My dog chewed up my Coach bag strap.  They fixed it and made another repair.  The same shop also rescued the bag after it was damaged by chlorinated water.  You would find it hard to see any of the repairs.   I'm also careful to keep it away from the dog now.

If you bring it to a coach store they'll send it out to be fixed and if they can't fix it then usually they'll replace it (if it's a current bag) or give you store credit.
