Hey, I ma a begginner Crocheter/Knitter. I wanted to make hats for my family for X-Mas. But unfortuanatly all the hat petterns I find all have little complicted stiches. I just want a simple hat pattern. Do you guys think you can help?

thanx for posting. i too would love to make a hat, but im not sure i could. ill try tho. last time i did the easy one, and my circly turned out all wrng. almost like a square Cheesy

Here is a Scarf and Hat pattern I made for my daughter last winter found it in a book called my first projects. I hope it is ok to post patterns from a book on here.

Scarf: Ch. 20
Row:1 (right side) Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 1, skip next ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across; turn----19 sts.
Row:2 Ch 1, Sc in first sc,* ch 1 skip space, sc in next sc; rep from * across; turn
Rep row 2 for pattern until 56" from beg. fasten off.
Edging: Attach in any corner, Ch 1, *(sc, Ch 1, sc) all in corner, ch 1, work (sc,ch 1) evenly across next side: rep from * around; jion with sl st to first sc. fasten off.

Hat: Ch 74(82). Work in pat same as Scarf over 73(81) sts until 9" from beg.
Shape Top-Next Row: Ch 1, *draw up a lp in next sc, skip sp, draw up a lp in next sc, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook, skip next sp; rep from* to last sc; sc in last sc: turn -----19(21) sts
Next Row:Ch 1, sc in first sc,* skip next sp, sc in next sc; rep from* across turn.
Next Row:Ch 1, sc in first sc, * skip next sp, sc in next sc; rep from * across; turn-----10(11) sc
Next Row:ch 1[ draw up a lp in next 2 sc, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook] 5 times, (sc in last sc) 0(1) time-----5(6) sts.
Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing.

Weave yarn end through top lps of last sts, pull up tightly to gather, stitch to secure.Sew back seam,reversing seam for brim.

Edging:With right side faceing, attach yarn at seam. wORKING IN REM LPS OF BEG CH, CH 1, SC IN SAME ST AS JIONING, CH1, SKIP NEXT ST,*SC IN NEXT ST;REP FROM* AROUND; JION WITH A SL STTO FIRST SC. FASTEN OFF
