Okay, this is my first KAL, so here it goes:

This sock is styled so it looks like a watermelon. I'm used the idea of the cheat sheet pattern from "Knitting Rules!" by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. (or any basic sock pattern)

Materials: set of 5 size 1 US (2.25mm) dpns
About 50 grams in Green and 50 grams in Pink
Small amount of black

Instructions:

CO 64 sts (divide evenly across 4 needles, should be about 16 per needle)

Work in rib pattern (K1, P1) for 3 rows (or more if you like, it doesn't really matter)

From this point, you can chose to make the leg of the sock or just make an ankle sock. For my own preference, I'm going to make an ankle sock.

Continue like a plain sock pattern until you get to the part of the sock right before the foot sections of the sock begines, switch to Pink and finish the rest of the sock like normal.

After both socks are completed, add french knots as an embellishment to symbolize the seeds of the watermelon.

I hope you enjoy this pattern. I will post a picture of my finished creation when I find the time to, well, finish it.
