Everyone needs a shirt right?

How about sewing this one with me?  Simplicity New Look 6598.  I know it isn't real exciting, but I bet you crafty folks could make it fabulous. 

I have an old sheet I am going to use first to get the fit right, ( I am going to try view E first).  Then I think I am going to use the material from some big frumpy denim shirts I have in the closet that I never wear (probably view B).

I might start cutting tomorrow night, or maybe not we are having a yard sale this weekend and there are some last minute things to do for that.

I hope you will join me, like I said everyone needs a shirt, and this is a classic shape, a good staple for any wardrobe.

you're right--this is a wonderful design and i know that i can always use a new blouse--i'd be happy to join you!  but i won't get to start on mine until a few weeks because i'm finishing up some other things right now, hopefully i'll be going to see my parents this weekend so i'll plan to start on my blouse when i get back.  (after 10 july).

I cut my pieces this weekend, sewed the front darts, and made the ties.  so far so good.

All I have left to do is the hemming and the armhole, facings.  I really like it but I don't think it is going to fit me.   I guess it is good to figure that out now and not after I bought some expensive fabric.  Anyone else out there making this shirt?

I will be making a shirt soon! I don't know if it fits in your category though. It's more of a kimono-styled top. But I will definitely post pics when I'm done. Oh, and I'm making two tops for my neice who is pregnant. Not maternity patterns but some shirt patterns we are thinking are roomy enough for now. I will post pics of those too, when I'm done.

my shirt is cut out but not sewn yet--i have about a dozen projects on the cutting table that have to be completed.     see, even if you sew for a living, you don't get to sew for yourself that much--that's why i prefer making clothing with one seam.
