Can you tell me how many fabric pieces are required for the outside?

If I recall correctly, there are 12 pieces that face flat outward, if you rotate them all nice & pretty.

Do more of what makes you happy.

so I totally had to make one.  I am very proud of the result, although the stitching where the wedges are joined up is less than beautiful.  Next time (and there will be a next time) I will baste the pieces together and then neatly stitch them up with embroidery thread.
