A Patchwork Or.,

I did see this...but I was on the 'recent posts with pictures' and it's like a 'no-posting replies' vortex...when I go there instead of just cruizing through the threads, taking my time, I see all kinds of great things without stopping to post comments!  (They probably would prefer that I do that all the time!  Ha-ha!)

So sorry!  Yours IS as lovely as I remembered them being from childhood!  If I don't get on in a swap, I'm making one!

Hey...I think we should have an Amish Puzzle Ball Craftalong!  What do you say?  Every size from Pincushions to Giant Pillows...we'll post our work on the Craftalong Board!  You or I can get the thread started if anyone is interested!

Just say Yeay or Nay.

But before you say nay...check out this pincushion from the late 1900 that is selling online for $85! Yours could be worth that much some day!

That is funny, because I have seen them in local flea markets, and antique shops selling anywhere from about $75 - $200!  I just couldn't fork over that kind of money for something that I knew I could make, so I made my own pattern.

The first one was a bit of a challenge....more so because of the picky cutting I did to get the design "just right".  Now they are an easy evening (or 2 - I get distracted easily! Grin) project that I can do in front of the TV.

I think it would be really fun to do a puzzleball craftalong!  Cheesy  It would be neat to see all the different sizes and how the fabric selection can completely change the look of what is essentially the same object.  I like that idea....anyone else up for it?  Let me know, and if there is enough interest, I will start a thread in the craftalongs....

I would be up for a craftalong. I am trying to make these for all of my aunts and cousins, since my grandma had one, and we all wanted it when she passed away. I am hoping to give them out for christmas.

I made one using this pattern.  It was so much fun and so rewarding.  Mine was a little bigger.  I think I doubled the measurements.  I used vintage fabric and fleece.  A craftalong would be fun!
